2nd annual conference of the Public Health Thematic Multi-Organization Institute (ITMO) - Personalized Medicine and Biomedical Innovations: Public Health, Economic, Ethical and Social Challenges
The Public Health Thematic Multi-Organization Institute (ITMO) is organizing its second annual symposium on Thursday December 5, 2013 in Paris (Bibliothèque nationale de France), on the theme of "personalized" medicine.
The symposium is bringing together public health stakeholders and researchers to discuss the public health, economic, ethical and social challenges associated with "personalized" medicine and biomedical innovations. The symposium will spark multidisciplinary discussions between medical innovation leaders and researchers in the fields of human, economic and social sciences and epidemiology and public health.
The day will be organized into three sessions, introduced by guest speakers Ruth Chadwick (Cardiff University), Ivo Gut (Centre Nacional d'Anàlisi Genòmica, Barcelona), Véronique Thouvenot (Fondation Millennia 2025, Geneva), Isaac Kohane (Harvard Medical School), Bartha Knoppers (McGill University, Montreal) and Theresa Marteau (King's College, London). The research under way through the French National Alliance for Life and Health Sciences will also be presented at this event, which will end with a round table session chaired by Jean-Paul Moatti (Director of the Public Health ITMO).
